Dollars Per Household (Dollar Per HH)

Definition

A measure of the average dollar amount spent per purchasing household on a product, brand, or category over a defined period. Dollar per HH reflects both purchase frequency and basket size among buyers.

How It's Calculated

Total sales dollars ÷ Number of purchasing households

Example

A frozen pizza brand reports $42 Dollar per HH for the year, indicating that each buying household spent an average of $42 on the brand during the period.
