Definition

A designation by a retailer requiring a product or SKU to be carried by all or a specified group of stores. A mandated item is part of the retailer's required assortment and is not optional for the stores included in the mandate.

How It's Calculated

Example

A brand manager explains that two SKUs are mandated at Walmart, meaning every Supercenter is required to stock those products as part of Walmart's national assortment.
