Percent Change (% Chg)

Definition

A measure of the relative change in a metric over time, expressed as a percentage. Percent change indicates whether a value has increased or decreased compared to a prior period.

How It's Calculated

(Current period value − Prior period value) ÷ Prior period value × 100

Example

A snack brand’s sales increase from $200,000 to $250,000, resulting in a 25% percent change, indicating growth versus the prior period.
