Percent Stores Selling (% Stores Selling) (PSS)

Definition

The percentage of stores in a defined universe that sold at least one unit of a product during a given time period (Percent Stores Selling, PSS). This metric reflects active selling distribution, not just authorization or listing.

How It's Calculated

(Number of stores with at least one unit sold ÷ Total number of stores in the universe) × 100

Example

A snack brand sells in 420 out of 1,000 tracked grocery stores during a four-week period, resulting in a % Stores Selling (PSS) of 42%.
