Approved Product List (APL)

Definition

A pre-approved list of products or SKUs that are authorized for sale, promotion, distribution, or inclusion in programs within a specific retailer, distributor, or channel. An APL defines which items are eligible for activation under agreed-upon terms.

How It's Calculated

Example

A personal care brand submits its core SKUs for inclusion on a national drug chain’s Approved Product List. Only items on the APL are eligible for promotional funding, circular placement, and seasonal programs.
