Definition
An electronic notice sent to the retailer before goods arrive, usually via EDI. This ensures retailers know exactly what’s arriving and when. This is required by most large chains. (ASN, Advance Shipping Notice)
How It's Calculated
Example
A beverage brand ships pallets to Kroger and sends an ASN with pallet count, case count, and tracking details. Without it, Kroger may reject the delivery.
