Assortment

Definition

The specific selection of products or SKUs that a retailer chooses to carry within a category, brand, or store format. Assortment defines which items are available for sale and may vary by retailer, channel, region, or store size.

Example

A yogurt brand has a broader assortment in large-format grocery stores, including multi-pack and specialty flavors, while convenience stores carry a limited assortment focused on single-serve SKUs.
