Authorized Item

Definition

A product or SKU that has been approved by a retailer or distributor for sale within a specific store, market, or channel. An authorized item is eligible for ordering, distribution, and shelf placement under agreed-upon terms.

How It's Calculated

Example

A frozen food brand confirms that its top-selling SKU is an authorized item at a national grocery chain, allowing it to be ordered by stores and included in planograms and promotions.
