Availability

Definition

The extent to which a product is present and purchasable in a retail location when a shopper is ready to buy. Availability reflects whether an item is on shelf and in stock, not simply authorized or listed.

How It's Calculated

Example

A beverage brand discovers that despite high distribution, availability is inconsistent due to frequent out-of-stocks, resulting in lost sales during peak demand periods.
