Average Items Selling (AIS)

Definition

The average number of items or SKUs actively selling per store within a given period. AIS reflects how many products are generating sales, not just authorized or stocked.

How It's Calculated

Total items selling across all stores ÷ Number of stores

Example

A frozen meals brand reports an AIS of 3.1, indicating that while more items may be carried, only about three SKUs per store are consistently selling during the period.
