Brand Development Index (BDI)

Definition

An index that compares a brand’s sales in a specific market to its national average performance (Brand Development Index, BDI)

How It's Calculated

(% of brand sales in market ÷ % of total population in market) × 100

Example

If a brand has 10% of its sales in a region that represents 5% of the population → BDI = 200.
