Days of Supply (DOS)

Definition

A measure of how long on-hand inventory will last based on current sales velocity (Days of Supply, DOS)

How It's Calculated

Inventory ÷ Average daily sales

Example

A warehouse with 14,000 cases of detergent selling 1,000 cases/day has 14 Days of Supply (DOS).
