Gross Margin

Definition

The percentage of sales revenue remaining after deducting cost of goods sold (Gross Margin)

How It's Calculated

((Net sales − Cost of goods sold) ÷ Net sales) × 100

Example

A company with $100 in sales and $60 in Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) has a Gross Margin of 40%.
