Incremental Sales Lift

Definition

The increase in sales directly attributable to a specific activity, such as a promotion, display, or marketing campaign, above the expected baseline. Incremental sales lift isolates the true additional impact rather than total sales during the activity.

How It's Calculated

(Observed sales − Baseline sales) ÷ Baseline sales
(or expressed as incremental units or dollars above baseline)

Example

A beverage brand typically sells 1,000 units per week. During a promotion, sales increase to 1,400 units. The incremental sales lift is +40%, with 400 units attributed to the promotion.
