Incremental Volume

Definition

The additional units sold as a direct result of a specific activity, such as a promotion, display, or marketing campaign, above the expected baseline. Incremental volume reflects the true increase in unit demand, not total sales during the activity.

How It's Calculated

Observed unit sales − Baseline unit sales

Example

A snack brand typically sells 2,000 units per week. During a promotion, sales increase to 2,800 units, resulting in 800 units of incremental volume attributed to the promotion.
