Definition

A ratio showing the percentage of sales spent on marketing activities (Marketing Expense-to-Sales Ratio). (Marketing Expense-to-Sales Ratio, M:S Ratio)

How It's Calculated

(Marketing expenses ÷ Sales revenue) × 100

Example

A beverage company spends $20M on marketing with $200M sales → M:S Ratio = 10%.
