Overlay

Definition

A promotional technique in which advertising or marketing materials are customized or adapted for specific retailers, often by adding retailer-specific branding, pricing, or messaging.

Example

A beverage brand creates a national ad campaign but applies an overlay for a major retailer, adding that retailer’s logo, pricing, and promotional details for use in their circular and digital ads.
