Percent Promoted Volume

Definition

The percentage of total unit sales that occur while a product is supported by promotional activity, such as feature, display, or price reduction. Percent promoted volume indicates the degree to which sales rely on promotions.

How It's Calculated

Promoted unit sales ÷ Total unit sales × 100

Example

A snack brand sells 10,000 total units in a period, with 6,000 units sold during promotional activity, resulting in 60% percent promoted volume, indicating strong reliance on promotions.
