Rebate

Definition

A financial incentive in which a portion of the purchase price is returned after the transaction, typically to the retailer or consumer, based on meeting specific conditions such as volume purchased or promotional participation.

How It's Calculated

Example

A manufacturer offers a rebate to retailers for purchasing a certain volume of product during a promotion, providing a credit after the purchase is completed.
