Definition

A scheduled update to a store’s planogram or shelf layout, during which products may be added, removed, repositioned, or resized to reflect new assortment decisions.

Example

During a category reset, a retailer reorganizes the snack aisle, adding new SKUs, removing underperforming items, and adjusting shelf space based on updated performance data.
