Reset Fees

Definition

Fees charged by a retailer to manufacturers to cover the labor and operational costs of rearranging shelves during a category reset. Reset fees may be required when introducing new items, changing facings, or updating planograms.

How It's Calculated

Fixed fee per reset, per SKU, or per store depending on retailer requirements.

Example

During a seasonal category reset, a retailer charges a snack manufacturer a reset fee to rearrange shelves and add the brand’s new multipack SKU.
