Sell-In

Definition

The volume of product a manufacturer sells into retailers, not yet sold to consumers (Sell-In)

How It's Calculated

Example

A beverage company sells 50,000 cases of sparkling water to Kroger’s distribution centers before the product is available in stores. This represents Sell-In, not consumer sales.
