Shelf Life

Definition

The length of time a product can be stored before it is no longer safe or suitable for sale or consumption, based on factors such as ingredients, packaging, and storage conditions.

How It's Calculated

Example

A packaged snack has a shelf life of 9 months, after which it must be removed from shelves if not sold.
