SOV (Share of Voice)

Definition

A brand’s percentage of total advertising activity in a category, measured by spend or impressions (Share of Voice, SOV)

How It's Calculated

(Brand spend ÷ Total category spend) × 100

Example

A cereal brand spends $10M in a $100M category → SOV = 10%.
