Total Distribution Points (TDP)

Definition

A measure of a product’s total availability and shelf presence, combining how widely it is distributed (ACV) with how many items or facings are carried in those stores. TDP reflects both breadth and depth of distribution.

How It's Calculated

TDP = ACV (%) × Number of Items (SKUs or facings)

Example

A frozen food brand has 50% ACV distribution and averages 4 SKUs per store. Its TDP is 200, indicating strong shelf presence across the stores where it is available.
