Trial Rate

Definition

The percentage of households that purchase a product for the first time within a defined period (Trial Rate)

How It's Calculated

(Number of first-time buyers ÷ Total category households) × 100

Example

If 3M households buy a new snack out of 10M in the category → Trial Rate = 30%.
